Orchestral Wind Ensemble
is a collection of authentic Orchestral Woodwind Ensembles,
designed to breathe life into your music.
Whether you're scoring a film, producing for the concert hall,
or composing for a virtual ensemble,
this library provides unparalleled clarity, depth, and expression.
Bring the rich textures of woodwinds to your compositions with this essential orchestral tool.
Experience the warmth, precision, and emotion only woodwind ensembles can deliver.
Of course, CH-Wind Ensembles blend perfectly with the CH-Wind Solo instruments.
Overview
The ensemble instruments have been mixed from a raw sample pool of over 88.000 samples – but not using ensemble recordings, but from perfectly tuned and edited performances of solo players.
Unlike when recording a group of players simultaneously, Chris had perfect control over tuning, timing and character of each individual player in the ensemble.
These ensemble instruments are completely free of any players performance errors that plague many ensemble libraries.
The samples have been carefully detuned, time shifted, positioned in the stereo field and mixed down to a 24 bit stereo mix.
This surgically detailed production process has resulted in a warm and rich symphonic woodwind sound. Two different section sizes have been created: „Small“ and „Large“ ensemble.

Pristine Sound Quality:
Professionally recorded in a dry environment, with the finest equipment, capturing the full character and nuance of each instrument. Recording in a dry environment offers more versatility, clarity, and control, and gives maximum freedom in post-production. You can experiment with different reverb types from the two build in Convolution Reverbs, to simulate any room or hall you like, without worrying about the inherent sound of the recording space clashing with added effects.

Realtime Control
Realtime performance using Leap Motion
There are many ways to control the many functions to achieve a convincing realtime performance.
You can use hardware faders, a breath controller,
TouchOSC on an iPad is a good choice.
Bernd Keul provides a nice video example of controlling CH-Orchestral Winds using the Leap Motion sensor controller together with Geko MIDI, the controller app for Leap Motion.
The leap motion is the only controller which enables to control multiple functions at a time in a pretty intuitive way.
